Event Recorder (monitoring and diagnosis of sporadic and symptomatic cardiac arrhythmias)

Event Recorder (monitoring and diagnosis of sporadic and symptomatic cardiac arrhythmias)

The service  provides h24/7 monitoring of sporadic and symptomatic cardiac arrhythmias by Event Recorder.

Palpitation (or awareness of skipped beats) is a common symptom of many patients and it may be difficult to be documented. Base electrocardiography and Holter monitor recording   are the most common methods to detect this symptom: often they don’t give encouraging results, especially with patients whose symptom is sporadic. In these cases the use of Event Recorder can be a valid element for the diagnosis.

The event recorder is given to the user for a period of 7-15 days by the Physician. When the user assesses the palpitation symptom, he/she applies the device on his/her chest, presses the button and records 30” of cardic thythm (memorized in the device) and then sends it automatically to the HTN’s operating system where a specialist Cardiologist provides a teleconsultation/telereport of the arrhythmic event.

The user can at every moment and at any time access the Electronic Health Record in HTN’s SmartTelemedicine, with their own password to:

•        view  sent traces to the user’s PHR

•        print the report directly

•        request teleconsultation in real-time with Cardiologist on duty.

The service is good for:

• diagnostic confirmation of the arrhythmias

• a more accurate assessment of the cardiovascular risk

• assessment of anti-arrhythmia therapy.

Referral and telemonitoring results given by HTN’s Cardiologist are printable within 24h. after user gives back Event recorder while the teleconsultation by HTN Cardiologist is immediate.

ABPM (Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring)

ABPM (ambulatory blood pressure monitoring)

Ambulatory blood pressure telemonitoring puts a device at the user’s disposal that  measures and sends to the Personal Health record the entire blood pressure readings.

The health care facility can at every moment access the Electronic Health Record in HTN’s  SmartTelemedicine Platform  to:

•        view readings of the user’s PHR

•        print the referral directly

•        request teleconsultation/telereferral in real-time from a specialist on duty.

The service is good for:

• diagnostic confirmation of blood pressure arrhythmias

• a better assessment of the cardiovascular risk by load pressure assessment, variability, differential pressure and average cardiac frequency

 • assessment of anti-hypertension therapy.

HTN referral is printable within 24 h and teleconsultation from an HTN cardiologist is immediate.

HBPM (Home Blood Pressure Telemonitoring)

Home blood pressure telemonitoring

The service allows the healthcare facility to put a device at the user’s disposal to measure blood pressure (BP) values at home (wireless bluetooth technology or NFC Near Field Communication).

Blood pressure readings at home or in mobility are sent automatically by smartphone or tablet to the user’s  PHR.

Progressive recording allows HTN’s Cardiologist to make an accurate assessment of the cardiovascular risk (by means of BP drop at night, pressure load, variability, pulse pressure, average cardiac frequency etc.).

 With this service you can:

•        measure at home or/and in mobility BP values as many times as you want

•        record BP values

•        compare them with the ones in the data base

•        view the BP values trend

•        receive a report from HTN Cardiologist and benefit from teleconsultation 24/7

•        print report immediately

•        view data.

The advantages are:

• primary prevention for patients at risk (hypertension, stress, obesity, kidney disease) or

•  secondary prevention check-ups (diabetes mellitus patients, stroke victims, dilated cardiopathy etc.)

•  assessment of anti-hypertension therapies.

Two variants are possible:

•        the BP device can be hired from the health care facility to their users who do not have a smartphone (user needs to periodically go to the clinic to download the home readings)

•        the use or measuring devices already available in clinics or to the user (in this case the data is manually inserted in the Personal Health Record).

2013 Guide Lines from the Hypertension European Association claim that BP readings done at home are an accurate way of having the user’s BP profile.

The service may be useful for:

•        activating a “screening” program with respect to the population at risk (smokers/ex-smokers)

•        assessing accuracy of COPD diagnosis

•        exarcerbation diagnosis of COPD when patient is not stable

•        defining an accurate diagnosis by teleconsultation with a lung specialists, appropriate therapy.

The telereport is printable within 24 h while the teleconsultation on the part of an HTN specialist is immediate.
